Emebet was a young girl living in Axum, Ethiopia, when war erupted and forced her family to flee their home. The experience set her schooling back, but not her determination. Now 13 years old, Emebet has returned home and is thriving at a private school. She is performing at the top of her class and working toward her dream of becoming a doctor to help find a cure for HIV/AIDS. Emebet is able to attend school and pursue her dreams with the help of a COEEF sponsor who covers the cost of her education.
